Renee Carver

Area Representative

I am 1989 graduate of Urbandale High School and moved back as an adult to raise my children in the Urbandale community. I have coached youth sports and helped to start a local soccer club during that time.

I attended Northwestern College in Orange City and the University of Iowa before ending up at Iowa State University where I received my BS in dietetics and my MS in Human Nutrition.

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior as a young child at Calvary Baptist Church in Logansport, Indiana where I grew up.

My journey with Fellowship of Christian Athletes began during my time attending Urbandale High School where I attended the FCA Huddle. We moved back to Urbandale in 2001 with your 3 small children into the house of the previous Urbandale Huddle Leaders. They made a deal with us that if they well us the house, we had to take over the Urbandale HS FCA huddle! We agreed and that was the beginning of a 20+ year stint of volunteering with FCA.
In the Fall of 2019, FCA reached out to me and asked me to start praying and considering an opportunity to Join the central Iowa Team as an area representative. It was at a time when I was deciding what to do with the rest of my life after being a stay-at-home mom for many years. After a couple of months of praying, seeking wisdom from my faithful mentors, I said yes to the call to work on staff with FCA at schools where I live. That December I was attending bootcamp in Kansas City where I would learn how to fundraise my salary as an Area Representative.

On June 1st, 2020 I began my journey as an FCA Area Representative at Drake University and North Polk, Urbandale, Johnston, Dallas center-Grimes, Des Moines Christian and Valley high schools where I currently still serve. My greatest joys are to help lead the athletes that I serve to a better understanding of who Jesus is and how He can become the Lord of their lives.
